  • Time Data: We record the timestamp of each submission to organise contributions chronologically.

  • Platform Functionality: The information collected helps us to maintain and improve the platform, allowing users to share and explore stories about cultural heritage and memory.
  • Research and Dissemination: Aggregated, non-personal data may be used for research, education, or artistic purposes to further the mission of Archival Horizons/Archivo Emergente.

3. Disclosure of Information

  • Anonymity: Users can contribute anonymously, and we do not associate contributions with personal identifiers such as (user)names, emails, or social media handles. Contributions are moderated to ensure anonymity is preserved.

Archival Horizons/Archivo Emergente may use third-party services – such as Storymaps Technology – for hosting, analytics, and platform functionality. These services may have their own privacy policies, and users are encouraged to review them.

Archival Horizons/Archivo Emergente provides a platform for sharing stories, perspectives, and reflections on cultural heritage with a focus on the ABCSSS islands and its diaspora. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the platform. These Terms of Use may be updated periodically, so check for updates regularly.

2. Content Submission

You retain ownership of the content you submit but grant Archival Horizons/Archivo Emergente a license to use, adapt, and share it within the platform and beyond. Ensure your content is original or that you have permission to share it. Submitted content must not violate laws, promote harm, or infringe on intellectual property.

3. Anonymity and Removal

Contributions are anonymous unless you choose otherwise. You can request removal of your content at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to reject submitted stories or remove content that breaches these Terms or conflicts with the platform’s mission.

4. Intellectual Property

The platform allowes shared and adapted use for non-commercial purposes after consulting with Counter/Narratives with appropriate credit and shared licensing of adaptations.

5. Use of the Platform

Archival Horizons/Archivo Emergente is for personal, non-commercial use. Do not misuse the platform for spam, fraud, or unauthorized activities. The platform is intended for users aged 10 and above.
